Southern Season's A Changin'!

Southern Season's a Changin'! Hard to believe, another summer has sneaked by me somehow??Although I feel as if I did accomplish a few good things and on the other hand, I feel the list, to do, is still so long. We have been on the Hill of North Ms now since Dec 2007'. Wow, what an ordeal geting this house was!! First of all the first lovely night , cold night that is, we moved in, the heater was NOT working. We are tired , cold, and with a 2 yr old, trying to move ourselves, and we realize there's No gas in our propane tank, noone ever mentioned to us?? Oh well, oops is all we got, and we just saw the previous owners at the closing earlier that day! Next day we have to spend 500.00bucks for propane and find out, the heater starter upstairs is broke! We use the home owners warranty the second day of living here. Oh Yes, then my blonde hair, at the time, turns green! Now we have a well, well water, and we still have not gotten this straight. Now I'm a brunette! Haha Then on a serious note, my son started to do some strange motion with his hands and arms in the car, later, after a neurology visit, I took him off the water from our house, this lil thing he was doin' almost completely stopped. VERY strange. I still think it may be the water.

We have copper pipes I learned, I researched it some, it can cause brain damage, this freaked me out. Even neurological problems can be caused by or from the corrosion in the pipes, making it more acidic, so we may eventually have to replace copper pipes too. LUCKY ME!! Sorry, back to the season's, we've had a nice summer here . We had july 4th here with my family and soon after Lil' Landon had his 3rd b-day ( car) party, with a jumpy/water slide, slippin' slide, smallpool, and electric riding toys. It was so hot, I think one of the hottest this summer! Haha Landon had fun, showing out and boy does he looooove the cake!! Because he is a single child, I really enjoy watching his interation with other children. They hug each other bye, its really cute and sweet. Gosh, He's growing so tall and big. wants to do everything himself, except potty??? Lord help me, he's not real interested.

A few things I did, was make a lil pink-lady rose circle with a bird bath raised in the middle, I planted 8 bushes around it. The roses remind me of my grandmother, she lived in a tiny shoebox apt., , but she always had roses and other flowers all around the apt. complex. I really miss her bad!!!! What a lady, full of life and a joyfull spirit. I will definately have to share more about her soon.

Also, I filled two bird feeders full, almost every 3 days for our hummngbird's . It's so nice to sit on the back porch in the morning, coffee,of course, and watch atleast 15 different lil' birds buzz in and out. They do it all day long. I also planted planters of herbs and flowers toghether for the front and back porch. I love that sweet smell of patunia's and rosemary, spearment, thyme, and marjorie. Gooood Stuff! Idid lots of painting too, I finished my dining room just recently. I love nice and neutral airy colors on the walls, which it is, blue and brown with antique furniture. I covered my chairs with a zebra stripe,(br. and tan).

On top of all that, I was looking for work. God always provides, no matter what!
Thank you Jesus.

When I was a child, the season's changing meant, lots of football at my house, chicken n dumplins', yum!! , fall festival's at school and many football games and dances, soo much fun. I have such fond memories of all that!! We definately new how to stirr up some fun. The famous and dear blogger and friend, Tiffany, you all have probably all read "Southern Sass", this lil' lady and I, use to rent out the scout hut, in our small town, and invite both public and private schools. Although, Tiff and I were best friends, we went to different schools. We knew everyone from both schools because of this, Iassume. We would even print lil' invitations out and hand them out. We would have DJ's and live bands "CRUZ", haha. So you can say we learned how to shake a leg at an early age! This age being, 12, People would be sitting in all the chairs and Tiff and I would start getting everyone to dance!! NOT SHY! Gotta go -rest of the story comes soon. God bless

Now the rest of the Story, Those fun Halloween nights, upto no good HAHA, In this small town back in the 80's,We could run all over town and bike all day long, being miles from home, but always felt very safe. We would have a group out, and go rollin' yards! Let's don't forget those haunted houses out in the country. Hay rides and slumber sleep overs, in those orange sleepin bags (remember Tiff?) haha Goood Times is all I can say. Small town, but always somethin' to do or to create somthing to do. No doubt ,small town Ms girls may talk slow but we know how to take lemons and make lemonade. Any bigtowners out there? Think you know what fun is? I will have to question you mam' or sir' ,cause if you aint ever been down south , made friends with a group of classey, creative, truebluesouthern gals, You have missed out!! That right there, is fun, funny, just good for the soul kinda livin'. Can I hear yes mam' up in this blog? HA HA
Yes in deed, that small town livin',creates such a strong since of home and community, and friendships that will last through the ages, and just the slightest remembrance of it, makes you smile, maybe even cry, at all the memories and details during that time in your life.

Just as the Season's are acutually starting to change, so do the days and moments in our life. Now that I'm all grown up, sometimes life in general gets in the way, and I look back to see where I came from, and to remember what I believe and why. Just pondering over that moment in life, helps make those foggy moments more clear again. Lil' did I know, that even the memory of that small town , down south livin', would help me in the future. I hope and pray from my child to yours, that we can create memories of a lifetime, with them and their friends. I want my son to look back, when he has "all grown up" and feel joy and happiness, just remembering times past. When things may get foggy , and its hard to tell which way is up or down, May the past help them to remember who they are and what they believe, if they go astray. May God always give our children a clear vision of who they are in Him!!Amen.

well, I guess you can kinda tell by now, that I'm just a lil' passionate about my "down south livin", classey southern sisters, and my God, how great thou art!! Not one I could live without!!

May God bless you and your family with great memories and truths that will keep you solid, as the season's of all of our lives change through age and time! God give us peace always, even through the roughest storms, He is our ROCK!!

I almost feel like I'm there, you desribe it so beautifully. I miss you so much! I wish I could sit with you on the back porch with a cup of coffee and watch the birds. Oh, I do have a question...do you put all those herbs and flowers within close proximity of each other, or spread out all over your landscape? How do you know what will mix well? Call me for bible study tonight if you have time! Toodles my Peige-uums!

I agree with Tiffany. Gotta see pix of the rose ring and bird bath. Sounds beautiful. Do you have any magnolia trees?

Peige,

Welcome to bloggy world! Tiffany directed me here. I'm fairly new to the blogging game myself.

I currently live in a "big" town. I don't love it. I miss the smaller towns that I grew up in. I also badly miss the changing seasons. My location trends toward the tropical. You are truly blessed in your location.
